Scheduled to attend this year is keynote speaker Rolf Lundberg, Senior Vice President, Congressional and Public Affairs at the Chamber of Commerce. Running simultaneously to the Western Cargo Conference is The Freight Summit (TFS) in Macau. The event is organized as a networking forum for independent freight forwarders to “interact with multiple alliances, hundreds of other independent international forwarders, logistics media and solutions providers in one place at the same time.” As a diamond sponsor for the event, IES is proud to continue its support of this growing event now in its fourth year. The conference is scheduled for 11-14 October at the Venetian Macao. Additional details and a full schedule of events can be found at http://www.thefreightsummit.com.

The event features an optional tour of Crate & Barrel’s 400,000 square foot Distribution Center (DC) to demonstrate how one of the largest Business-to-Consumer (B2C) shippers in the world handles its packaging challenges and reduces in-transit damage claims. Speakers include representatives from Morgan Stanley, Pitney Bowes and DHL. Now in its eighth year, Parcel Forum is scheduled to take place outside of Chicago O’Hare from October 24-27.
