Bordeaux, the Fashion Leader in Seamless Technology Announces the New Hire of Hermes Designer, Montserrat Gonzalezlugo

Los Angeles, CA, April 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Bordeaux, the trademarked originator of “seamless” apparel manufacturing technology, is bringing the Parisian-style design aesthetic to the Los Angeles fashion community. Today the company has announced the hiring of fashion designer Montserrat Gonzalezlugo to lead the company’s newest designer collection available in specialty retail stores this summer.

Based in downtown Los Angeles, Bordeaux boasts personalized designs and fittings to meet the needs of the most discerning woman. Who is the Bordeaux woman? She is a confident, outgoing, and modern woman who can transform a garment to suit many occasions. Like the brand, the Bordeaux woman is infinitely unique.

In March 2007, Montserrat came to Los Angeles from Hermes Sellier to work with Ardy Raminfar, the creative director and founder of Bordeaux. Together, they plan to co-develop the line and reposition it within the high-end retail consumer environments. As the newly appointed lead designer for Bordeaux, Montserrat states that she will take Bordeaux where it is expected, but not yet discovered.

While attending the St. Martin’s School in London, Montserrat was awarded the highly regarded Prize of Technical Expertise from the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicate de la Couture Parisienne in 2003. She then enjoyed a two-year tenure at Hermes, where Montserrat assisted in the preparation of the womenswear collection designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. Working directly under Gautier’s tutelage, she created stunning and unique presentations for the press, designed new lace patterns and prints, and oversaw fittings of seasonal collections to ensure cohesion and cutting edge technical applications.

Montserrat comments that “working with Jean Paul Gautier and being his Assistant Designer in Hermes brought me very valuable experiences. I truly admire him and his versatility to design and stay clear in the different collections he does, his haute couture, his ready-to-wear and signature Hermes collections.”

Each item in the Fall/Winter 2007 “pret-a-porter” Bordeaux collection is based on Parisian fashion house standards. Montserrat’s garments will be exclusive clothes that are virtually made by hand, carefully interlined, stay taped and fitted to perfection to give the sense of a “personal touch” for each client. This prêt-a-porter collection will boast new luxury fabrics and treatments including, but not limited to, woven fabrications, ribbon trims, and exquisite fit.
