Woodland Hills, CA, April 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Winer Wealth Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that its president and CEO, Rich Winer, has been named to The Guitar Center Music Foundation's board of directors. The foundation provides funding and resources for in-school and after-school music programs throughout the United States.

"Some of my best childhood memories revolve around music and the music education I received in school." Winer recalls. "Today, many public schools have no music program. Some of my friends who are music teachers in the public school system spend their summers wondering if there will be enough money in the budget to pay their salaries in the fall. Without help from organizations like The Guitar Center Music Foundation, many more public schools would be without the sound of music in their classrooms."

As a financial advisor, Rich Winer is nationally recognized for his IRA and retirement planning expertise. In 2005, he was mentioned in The Wall Street Journal for identifying an oversight by two CPAs and saving the beneficiaries of a $1.5 million IRA more than $700,000 in taxes. In 2006, he was featured in Financial Planning Magazine's Career Advisor.

For nearly 30 years, Rich Winer has also worked as a sideman, session guitarist, composer and producer in Miami, Nashville and Los Angeles. He has composed and produced music for TV and Radio, as well as numerous song and artist demos. His versatility as a guitarist has been showcased on recordings and in live performances with a variety of pop, rock, country and jazz recording artists. He recently played guitar on two songs for the forthcoming soundtrack CD for the television show House that were produced by Grammy Award-winning record producer David Foster.

Since 2006, Rich has played guitar for the celebrity rock group Band From TV with actors Hugh Laurie (House), Greg Grunberg (Heroes), James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Bob Guiney (The Bachelor) and Bonnie Somerville (Kitchen Confidential). The band was formed for the purpose of playing and recording music to raise money for a number of charities including Save the Children, The International Myeloma Foundation, The Coalition Against Domestic Violence and The Guitar Center Music Foundation. The band is in the process of forming The Band From TV Global Charity Trust, a charitable foundation.

"As musicians, we owe it to the next Eddie Van Halen, Snoop Dog, Stravinsky, Garth Brooks and Andrea Bocellis of the world to help support their music education," Winer explains. "In many inner cities, after school music programs help keep children off the streets, out of trouble and out of harm's way. They help build confidence, instill discipline and teach skills that can be applied to other areas of a child's life. I am honored to have been asked to be a part of such a wonderful organization, one that is doing so much to keep the sound of music in the schools alive."
