Brisbane, Australia, October 06, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- On 3rd November the curtains will roll back for opening night to present "Attack the Block," the new film by English comedian and actor Nick Frost. Aided by a group of teenagers Nick goes to battle against an army of aliens to prevent them from destroying South London and then the rest of the world.
Starting with comedy and adventure, the festival will then finish with a film that’s entirely more sinister as it presents the latest work by Pedro Almodovar. "The Skin I Live In" will be making its Australian premiere at the festival and has already received rave reviews along with Antonio Banderas’ performance in the main role.
As well as international films, the event will comprise documentaries, intriguing experimental pieces, horror and retrospectives. There’s also plenty for younger audiences with a selection of children’s features and animations while the short film competition will also hope to potentially reveal the next Hollywood directors.
Adding to all the films will be master classes in various areas of film making and the event will have its own awards ceremony to recognise significant achievements in film. All the activities are going to be staged between 3rd and 13th November 2011.
