Honolulu, HI, October 09, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- "Communion" is a fictional tale of life in wartime, when the best in individuals surfaces to combat the evils that surround them. It tells the story of people getting by, living and eventually prospering amidst constant threats of violence. It is also the story of a gifted daughter who seeks to push her mother and those around her to transcend the day-to-day horrors and extract from it a renewal of spirit and love of life. "Communion" speaks to the mysteries of the soul, the challenges of marriage, and the love between parents and children, husbands and wives, nature and earth.
Jean Blasiar is the award-winning author of the Emmy Budd mystery series for youth, and the multi-award-winning series "Poor Rich" (Savant 2010) and Richer (Savant 2011) for young adults. Her experience as a playwright and theatrical producer in the Los Angeles area resulted in one of Jean’s plays being optioned by Twentieth Century Fox for a pilot. "Communion" is her first adult novel in collaboration with her former editor at Savant Books and Publications, Jonathan Marcantoni. The screenplay for "Communion" has been written and is currently in the hands of an agent and producer.
A freelance writer and Savant Books and Publications editor since 2004, Jonathan Marcantoni is a graduate of the University of Tampa, where he majored in Spanish studies. He worked on "The Bleepin Truth" television show and for the Tampa Bay Sun. He currently resides in San Antonio with his wife and two daughters. His second novel, "Drifters" is currently in editing with Savant Books and Publications.
"What drew us to this story was its simple power," says Blasiar, “What on the surface is a basic fable hides deeper truths about life and love, and what we're willing to sacrifice to find happiness.”
"This is a story for everyone, young and old, male and female, and it is my hope that people come to love reading it as much as we did writing it," adds Marcantoni.
