Hits 106 Looking for Local Artists to Give Them Free Airplay

New Laramie station looking to give free airplay to local bands in new "Battle of the Bands" show on the station.

Laramie, WY, October 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Hits 106, Laramie’s hottest new radio station is looking for the hottest music in the state of Wyoming and Northern Colorado. Giving local artists a place to have their music played on the air, KLMI 106.1 FM is launching a segment called “Battle of the Bands.”

“We are already the most interactive radio station in Laramie,” said Owner Shawn Faxon. “This is just another way to not only be interactive with fans but also to find the best homegrown talent and give them some much needed airplay.”

Local artists can submit an original radio friendly demo to Hits 106 to gain the free airplay. An artist song will be played against another artist that has submitted a demo, after both songs have played KLMI will take votes and the winning song will be played in regular rotation on the station over the next week. In addition to a song all bands or artist should also submit a bio of their group.

“Airplay is what these artist need and having a chance to be played in regular rotation is what a lot of these artists are looking for,” said Matthew Blaylock the one who came up with the idea. “You never know who may be listening as we stream online all around the world, this could be the big break for any one of these great local artists.”

As long as a group keeps winning they will continue to be played in regular rotation on Hits106. If an artist or band can win for four straight weeks their song will be retired a champion and they will earn airplay of that winning song on a regular basis.

No band or artist is limited to submitting just one song, they can submit as many as they like and they can submit them right on the Hits 106, where they can also find out more info about the hottest new feature in Laramie and Wyoming radio www.myhits106.com.
