Bright New Children’s Book STOMP OUT the Bullying! Published by Outskirts Press

Fifteen year old's Angel McGowan and Matthew Linn write and illustrate this bright new children’s book that engages young readers with the tale of Mikey, a victim of school bullying who overcomes his tormentors and provides peace for his friends.

Greenville, SC, October 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Author Angel McGowan and illustrator Matthew Linn announced today the release of STOMP OUT the Bullying!, published by Outskirts Press. These two talented fifteen year old's have created a professionally done book for young readers which not only shows empathy for the daily torment and sadness of bullying, but also provides hope and a key to stomping it out.

With cleverly rhymed monologues and perky illustrations, Angel and Matthew present the story of Mikey, a boy reduced to sadness and frustration from the daily harassment by a crew of young bullies at school and on the bus. They call him names, they steal his lunch money from him in line at the cafeteria, and they make fun of the clothes he is wearing.

One day, after he encourages his friends to stand up to them, they even beat him up in the boy’s room and leave him lying scratched and bruised on the cold tile floor. His friends -- too scared to face the bullies themselves -- have abandoned Mikey and have hidden in the stalls.

With the help of a sympathetic teacher, Mikey finally finds a solution to the problem. He and his friends are freed from the abuse and they can sleep comfortably in their beds at night, no longer afraid to go to school the next day.

Angel McGowan and Matthew Linn recognize that bullying is a sad part of school children’s everyday life, and their story will appeal to every elementary or middle school child who has ever been faced with bullying and who needs the hope that it can end.

Angel McGowan is a fifteen year old who is already in the eleventh grade and, an honor student, is as accomplished in the classroom as she is as a writer. Matthew Linn is also fifteen, a sophomore and -- not surprisingly, given his talent – he plans to pursue a career in art after college.
