New York, NY, October 15, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- The Occupy Resistance Network today launched a new social-networking site for Occupy Supporters. The site, OccupyR.com (http://www.occupyr.com), seeks to help unify the scattered voices towards more actionable plans. The Occupy Wall Street Movement has been by nature, loose and leaderless, but supporters still need a way to find consensus amongst each other on common ideals, beliefs, and demands. OccupyR launches with local communities for cities New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington DC.
OccupyR is developed under the same ideals as the Occupy Movement. The website is independent and unaffiliated with any political parties. Discussions appear on the site in a democratic process in which the highest-voted posts appear at the top. The site operates with 100% transparency, allowing users to see who voted for which posts as well, deterring motivated individuals from gaming the system. As the Occupy Movement spreads towards more cities, OccupyR may prove to be a useful resource for establishing unity and strength.
The Occupy Movement is based on a common set of ideals against corporate greed and political corruption. It is a belief that the country must separate money from politics, untangling the current power structure in which the "we the 99%" are caught. Occupy is not just a group of protesters but an idea that has manifested as demonstrations across more than 70 cities and growing. It is the idea that people must stand up for what is right, for when good men do nothing, evil prevails. The country and people's futures are auctioned to the highest bidder. But the voices on the streets are the People's bid.
