)-- The Italian American Club in Las Vegas will host monthly USA Boxing cards beginning November 26th at its historic Sahara and Eastern location. The bouts will be promoted by Jose Banales of the Center Ring Boxing Club of N. Las Vegas and televised on TV4U.Com via the TVS Television Network.
This marks the return of regular club boxing in Las Vegas, which ended with the demise of the Silver Slipper Casino in 1991.
The Italian American Club has held boxing matches in their famed Sorrento Room since 1991, and now embarks on an ambitious monthly program designed to promote boxing in Las Vegas and around the world.
The Center Ring Boxing Club, headed by Jose Banales, has been a beacon of hope for underprivileged boys and girls for more than a decade. The club welcomes all youth and does not charge a fee for their training.
The TVS Television Network has partnered with Jose Banales previously at the Silver Slipper Casino and now looks to have an ambitious monthly television program to highlight top amateur boxers from Las Vegas and around the world.
“Las Vegas is the world capital of boxing,” said Margate Entertainment CEO Charry Kennedy. “To have world class quality amateur boxing each month from the Italian American Club will make for exciting television.” Ms. Kennedy has a long and rich boxing background, having run the Copa Room at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City for many years and then at Caesars Palace and the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Ms. Kennedy, as the CEO of Margate Entertainment, parent company to TV4U.Com and the TVS Television Network, has donated the boxing ring to the Center Ring Boxing Club to be used for the telecasts.
The TVS Television Network is the fourth oldest commercial network in the USA. Founded in 1961, it is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. TVS has nationally telecast major sports, music and entertainment programming including the Alan King Tennis from Caesars Palace, World Arm Wrestling from the Imperial Palace, Pro Bowling from Sams Town and the Showboat, boxing from the Las Vegas Hilton, the Silver Nugget, the Sands Hotel and Casino, the Playboy Hotel and Casino, and the Casablanca Casinos, plus basketball and boxing from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
