South Side Dogs Help Upstate New York Flood Victims and Their Pets

Worcester, NY, October 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- South Side Dogs teamed up with a local pet food distributor to help victims of the flooding in Upstate New York caused by hurricane Irene.

Many local communities in the region have been affected by weather-related disasters over the past 2 months, prompting Popolizio to organize a donation of almost 4,000 pounds of assorted pet foods and other supplies to help struggling residents cope with the aftermath of the flooding brought on by the hurricane as well as other isolated weather events that have caused significant damage. Many families and their pets have been displaced because of these events, and local animal shelters are stepping up to help struggling residents by offering food and supplies to help people maintain proper care of their pets. With help from Popolizio and the staff at South Side Dogs, area residents from Schoharie County down to the Catskill Region, have been able to provide proper care to their pets, without having to resort to turning them over to already overcrowded local animal shelters.
