Douglas Richie is an eighty-three year old man who has been happily married for sixty-two years and has derived great satisfaction from having spent over five years in intense interaction with his wife in the preparation of this book. Their marriage is stronger today as a result of this effort. Their first twelve years were spent in Philadelphia. They moved to Long Beach, CA, in 1961 and have been living in Carlsbad, CA, for the past seven years.
