FC Harlem Gets FieldTurf

Non-profit organization gives back to local community with FieldTurf installation.

Harlem, NY, October 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- FC Harlem recently had a brand new FieldTurf field installed at their communal facility in Harlem, marking the dedication the club has towards the kids and FieldTurf’s commitment towards associating themselves with a good cause. The installation replaces their old grass pitch that often suffered through tough weather and flash flooding, making it difficult to run programs on queue. FieldTurf ensures the club that it can play year round, endure a heavy dose of usage by all of the kids in the community, and survive throughout the harshest weather conditions. Organization officials could not be more pleased with the switch to FieldTurf.

"FC Harlem is very excited to have FieldTurf installed on our pitch. It will allow our program to play year round and minimize maintenance," said Irv Smalls, Executive Director of FC Harlem. “We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with FieldTurf in providing more beautiful fields for the community of Harlem in the near future."

The field’s unveiling was marked by a grand ceremony that included soccer stars Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez, both who play for the local New York Red Bulls in MLS. Coincidentally, the Red Bulls also play on FieldTurf and join in the celebration as the community of Harlem welcomes a pitch that is regarded as the best in quality and performance. Members got a chance to scrimmage with Henry and Marquez, and the excitement being generated is truly heartfelt and genuine.

FieldTurf’s patented system is what makes for a perfect fit with FC Harlem. The club’s main priority is the wellness of its players, and FieldTurf offers the safest and most durable product in the market. With less injuries occurring on the pitch, players can learn the fundamentals of the game without risk, and enjoy playing in all conditions. Heavy maintenance is also reduced, which allows for the club to focus more of its efforts on the important matters it deals with: the kids.

As FC Harlem has been promoting the sport of soccer for the past two decades, it also promotes healthy well-being and developing leaders in the community. These morals and values that they encompass is what FieldTurf stands for as well, and is proud to associate with the community of Harlem into the long-term future.
