Amy Phipps Joins Surgical Healing Arts.

Fort Myers, FL, October 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Amy Phipps, MS, RN, ARNP has joined Surgical Healing Arts, a new medical practice offering a full spectrum of medical and surgical weight loss options to residents of Southwest Florida.

Ms. Phipps is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in bariatrics and has worked with obese adolescents and adults. Prior to joining Surgical Healing Arts, Ms. Phipps was the Nurse Practitioner at the New Hope Adolescent Weight Management Project, and adolescent bariatric program at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. She has been involved on a national level in the field of adolescent obesity and has spoken about the problem at multiple interdisciplinary conferences.

Ms. Phipps shares a firsthand awareness of the issue of obesity with her patients. She is sympathetic to their plight as she has undergone bariatric surgery herself and knows how the process can be a transformational experience. She is active in Lee County Public Schools, partnering to create awareness of adolescent obesity, its health effects and management strategies for teens.

Ms. Phipps graduated from the University of Colorado School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner from Rush University School of Nursing (Chicago).
