Capstone Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Customers at AASL Conference

Minneapolis, MN, October 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) conference this week with cake, customer recognition events, and author signings. The conference will be held Oct. 27-29 in Minneapolis, Minn.

“We’re delighted to celebrate 20 amazing years in publishing with many of our customers at AASL. It gives us the opportunity to personally thank them for their support and partnership and look ahead to another 20 rewarding years,” said Matt Keller, Capstone’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Capstone kicks off its celebration during the conference’s opening reception on Thursday, Oct. 27 at its booth #303 with anniversary cake served at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m, and a book signing from award-winning author Michael Dahl at 6:00 p.m.

Customer recognition events on Friday, Oct. 28 include a breakfast for 300 library and media specialists, with guest speakers Carl A. Harvey II, current AASL President, and Connie Dopierala, Media Services Coordinator from Charleston County School District, SC. From 5:00-7:00 p.m., Capstone will host a reception for Capstone Rewards members, a free program allowing members to earn points toward free books with every Capstone purchase. Books and prizes will be given away at both events.

• Michael Dahl, author of the Return to the Library of Doom series on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m.
• Marci Peschke, elementary school librarian and author of the Kylie Jean series at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29.
• Steve Brezenoff, author of the Field Trip Mysteries series at Noon on Friday, Oct. 28.
• Donnie Lemke, author of Drop In from the Tony Hawk’s 900 Revolution series at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.
• Trisha Speed Shaskan, McKnight Artist Fellowship for Writers recipient and author of The Other Side of the Story series at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
