Gaming Face Off Awards Over $50,000 in Cash and Prizes

Top three finalists in Great Canadian Appathon Squared show off their games to a panel of celebrity judges.

Toronto, Canada, November 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Fuelled by pizza and energy drinks more than 400 students across Canada worked non-stop over the weekend of September 30th to develop 88 mobile games. Presented by XMG Studio and the National Post, the Great Canadian Appathon Squared gave students the opportunity to win over $50,000 in cash and prizes, get their game published and even win a chance at a job in the games industry at XMG Studio. At the Grand Finale sponsored by KMPG on November 2nd, the top three teams will play their game live in front of a panel of judges. They will be competing for bragging rights, Great Canadian Appathon Squared supremacy and a chance to win the $25,000 grand prize. The Event will take place on November 2nd at the Real Sports Bar & Grill.

The Great Canadian Appathon2 was a 48-hour game development event presented by The National Post and Canadian game developer XMG. The event was open to college and university students coast-to-coast.
