Damnation Books LLC Announces Closure of Realms of Fantasy Magazine

A spokesperson for Realms of Fantasy, Kim Richards Gilchrist, says, "We are saddened about the decision to close Realms of Fantasy Magazine. It's been thrilling to publish the issues we have in 2011. Santa Rosa, CA, November 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Damnation Books LLC, publisher of Realms of Fantasy Magazine announces the closure of the magazine due to falling subscriptions and low sales.

A spokesperson for Realms of Fantasy, Kim Richards Gilchrist, says, "We are saddened about the decision to close Realms of Fantasy Magazine. It's been thrilling to publish the issues we have in 2011. Despite the magazine looking better than ever, the addition of new content/revision of former columns, and extensive marketing efforts, the magazine simply costs more to print than it brings in. Our back up capital has been depleted and so it was time for the magazine to carry its own. Unfortunately this is not the case and so we had to make the painful decision to close the magazine down for good."

Gilchrist reports the October 2011 issue, just released, will be the last. Efforts to sell the magazine failed, prompting the closure.

Authors with stories in submission are encouraged to submit their work elsewhere. Subscribers with questions are being referred to the refund policy and closure announcement on the magazine's website: http://www.rofmag.com

PDf copies of recent issues will remain for sale on the magazine's website; as will print copies until those are sold off.

In closing, Gilchrist stated, "We want to thank everyone: our staff, artists and authors for producing great content for Realms of Fantasy. Your efforts are appreciated. Additionally, we thank all of our subscribers who had faith us. We wouldn't have made it this far without you."
