Minnesota Sinfonia Announces Fall Fundraiser

The Minnesota Sinfonia is proud to announce its annual Fall Fundraiser. The fundraiser will run until November 30, 2011.

Minneapolis, MN, November 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Thanks to generous support, the Minnesota Sinfonia had a very successful past year and anticipates its best season yet. Here are just a few highlights that show past donations at work. In the 2010-2011 season, the Minnesota Sinfonia:

-Held 60+ free of admission concerts, many with world-class soloists from around the globe, to some of our largest audiences to date;

-Taught core subjects through music to 10,000+ elementary students, of which nearly 80% live under the poverty level, at no cost to the students or school districts that participated;

-Performed at Camp Courage for a second year using music from Harry Potter and Peter and the Wolf, to bring to life a wide range of magical moments and human emotions;

-Established a new partnership with Junior Composers and awarded three composers, between the ages of 14 and 19, live premieres of their work by the Sinfonia;

-Expanded their outreach with the Northside Music and Arts Festival, two days of festivities including 50 local children dancing, narrating and providing scenery for Peter and the Wolf;

-Continued their Youth Outreach Concert for 25 young musicians to experience a “week in the life” of a professional musician, and their Young Artist Competition where the winners received solo appearances with the Sinfonia.

The Minnesota Sinfonia needs help to keep the momentum going into 2012. All Sinfonia concerts are offered free of admission charges, but the concerts are not free. They also provide at-risk youth access to music education and performance opportunities at no cost to the schools or the communities.
