New York’s Music Scene Pays Homage to DJ Eleven on 11.11.11

Internationally acclaimed DJ Eleven celebrated for his contributions to the urban alternative music industry

New York, NY, November 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On Friday, November 11th, 2011, DJ Eleven and 11 Inch Records will ignite the Red Bull Space in SoHo to celebrate DJ Eleven and his contributions to urban alternative music and club scenes all over the world. Hosted by Donwill and Mike Baker the Bike Maker, this eclectically charged affair will feature performances from Mick Boogie, The Rub, Max Glazer, Moma, Illo, and Matthew Africa.

Originally from Oakland, CA, DJ Eleven relocated to New York in 1999 and founded the infamous Brooklyn-based DJ crew The Rub with DJ Ayres and Cosmo Baker. Since debuting in 2002, The Rub has been hailed as NYC’s “Best Party” by New York Magazine and the “Best DJ Collective in New York” by Spin Magazine, while being nominated “America’s Best DJ” by DJ Times.

Eleven’s renowned style and sound has garnered both national and international acclaim through his constant touring, collaborations with the likes of Goapele, Talib Kweli, The Cataracs and J-Boogie and DJing alongside greats like DJ Premier, Mark Ronson and The Chemical Brothers. After emerging onto New York’s music scene, DJ Eleven has earned consistent respect and praise from The New York Times, The Fader and The Village Voice.
