AOMA Graduates Excel in National Boards

Austin, TX, November 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine has released its NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) exam pass rates for the first half of 2011. NCCAOM certification is the basic requirement for becoming a licensed acupuncturist in most states.

AOMA continues to exceed national pass rates on the NCCAOM exam across all modules, with first time test takers averaging 91.8% pass rate, compared to the 85.5% national average. AOMA graduates scored above the national average in all four exam areas, including acupuncture, biomedicine, Chinese herbs and Oriental medicine.

AOMA is the first stand-alone, single-degree granting school of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the nation to be regionally accredited, and the first school of its kind to be accredited by the Southern Association on Colleges and Schools.

In 2011 AOMA opened its new 19,000 square foot headquarters campus, master-planned to meet the specific needs of the college’s growing graduate program in acupuncture and demand for additional clinic space.

AOMA has an excellent track record of preparing its students for success. More than 95 percent of AOMA graduates receive licensure within one year of graduation, and the alumni loan default rate is 0%, based on two years of data. AOMA alumni are currently practicing in 34 states and on three continents, and more than 90 percent practice in the field of Chinese medicine.
