Nation's Largest Specialty Golf Retailer Announced as Aces & Aficionados Charity Golf Event's Title Sponsor

Golfsmith have committed to be the Title Sponsor for the inaugural Aces and Aficionados Charity Golf Event this December 11 in support of Expect More Arizona and making education the State’s number one priority.

Scottsdale, AZ, November 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Portland Reed, co-founder of Aces and Aficionados, announced last week with the release of the tournament’s dynamic introductory video that the nation’s largest specialty golf retailer Golfsmith will be the Title Sponsor for the foundational event.

Golfsmith which generates over 100 million dollars revenue quarterly, is a major coup for this charity golf event which will greatly increase the chances of the tournament making enough money to effect the first stages of an educational turn around in Arizona,“...and that’s just for starters...,” says Reed, “we’re facilitating a cultural revolution.”

Golfsmith began in 1967 from a little house in New Jersey and have since grown to 78 stores nationwide, the most recent opening in Washington D.C. Their online global market presence is highly reputable having begun in the days of hardcopy catalogue marketing and has exceeded all expectations to date as it continues to add to is repertoire. Golfsmith’s client based values have grown with them and accompany every service they offer, the many devoted staff and the passionate professionals. "We hope to show that we are compassionate about the future of children’s education… as a parent I am concerned about the future of our children and the state of our country in the years to come,” says Demond Davis, Golfsmith’s General Manager, “I'm a big advocate of giving back to our kids. I also saw this as a business opportunity to further set Golfsmith apart as the leading retailer in golf.”

The national educational crisis is recognized by both the media and the public, yet it has reached critical mass and must now become a priority to the State’s government in order for real change to take place. “I think in Arizona the better demographic areas are where I notice a disparity in the education system,” says Davis, “where kids excel more in the higher income areas than the lower income areas.” Golfsmith, alongside the other event sponsors, will combine their efforts with Aces & Aficionados to make this Charity Golf Event an unforgettable success; bringing to life the true tournament experience with children acting as ambassadors, celebrity participation, and an experience to be remembered.

When Reed approached Golfsmith their enthusiasm for children’s rights and the educational movement were as strong as her own and so began a union with Golfsmith as the Title Sponsor of the Aces & Aficionados Charity Golf Event in support of Expect More Arizona.

About Aces & Aficionados

Motivated to sound an alarm about the state of our education system this company is driven to support at every level those organizations benefiting the future of our children. It is not because we don’t have the resources to make the changes necessary to correct the system; it is because we have lost focus on what is a genuine priority; the quality teaching of our children, empowering them for excellence. Aces & Aficionados is seeking to engage the attention of business leaders, parents, the nation’s best and highest; remind them of the teacher that inspired them, engaged them and showed them who they could be.
