About the featured choreographer
Internationally known choreographer Michele Burton brings a sense of style and grace to the dance floor. For the past 15 years, Burton has traveled and taught throughout the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Australia, Japan and Korea. Burton received the Duo Of The Year, Dancer's Choice Award from the Las Vegas Dance Explosion with partner Michael Barr in 2010. She was nominated for several Dancer Choice Awards in 2009 and 2010, as well as a Crystal Boot Award in 2009. Burton grew up in California, where, at the young age of 4 was forced by her mom, Lorraine Kurtela (Hello Dolly) to take tap dance lessons. Feeling more comfortable with a softball, field hockey stick, or volleyball in her hands, Burton gravitated to competitive sports in high school and college, pursuing a career as a physical education teacher. Now retired, she couldn't think of anything better to do than share the joy of dancing and teaching. Burton lives in Corning, California, with her partner, Michael Barr and their dancing kitty, Twinkle Toes.
