The Medal Play Golf Tour Opened 2012 Season at Tatum Ranch

Cave Creek, AZ, November 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour opened the 2012 season on Saturday at Tatum Ranch. “The course was in excellent condition today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “The course came out of overseed three weeks ago so the fairways were lush and the greens fast. Some players looked in midseason form as the scoring was pretty good for the opener.”

The Championship Division saw tour rookie Jeff Campbell fire a 2 under net 70 for his first win in as many tries. Ron Johnson was the runner up with a net 75 while Bob Dillon posted a nice net 76 to finish third.

The Gold Division was hotly contested between a couple of tour vets, Mike Edmonds and John Saager. Edmonds birdied the par 5 eighteenth hole to claim victory by a single shot over Saager. Dennis Kindred fired an even par net 72 to place third.

The Silver Division was basically match play between Bob Hickman and Matt Horner with Hickman edging out Horner for the victory.

The tour returns to action at Hillcrest Golf Club in Sun City on Saturday December 3rd.
