Don McDonnell to Deliver Keynote Address at Georgia SCADA Users Group Fall Meeting

Today a Leading Smart Grid Authority Will Discuss Technical, Financial Implications of Utility Asset Health

Atlanta, GA, November 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Don McDonnell, managing director of smart grid research and public relations firm, The McDonnell Group, will deliver the keynote address outlining strategies for substation asset health at the Georgia SCADA Users Group Fall Meeting today. The two-day meeting, sponsored by the Georgia Transmission Corporation, convened yesterday at 8:30 a.m. at the Electric Cooperative Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia.

McDonnell has amassed two decades of experience in the energy and enterprise software sectors, which includes extensive work in the utility sector throughout the U.S. He also serves on the board of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Smart Grid Society, and is founder of the online Smart Grid Executive Forum.

The first full day of the meeting consisted of a MultiSpeak Integrator Training led by Gary McNaughton from Cornice Engineering, Inc. In addition to the keynote address, Tuesday’s agenda includes sessions conducted by David Revill, manager, Cyber Security Operations, Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC); Mark Reeves, principal engineer, Georgia System Operation Corporation (GSOC); Rob Hall, AMI Project Manager, Southern Rivers Energy; and Mary Hester, CEO, LAN Systems.
