South Florida Visual Artist Jonathan Brooks to Unveil Aids Trio 2011 for World Aids Day at Miami International University of Art & Design November 29 - December 4, 2011

Miami, FL, November 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Award winning Visual Artist/Photographer Jonathan Brooks unveils the third installment in his Aids Trio series at the Miami Beach Community Health Center's fourth installment of its thought-provoking “Through the Eyes of Love” juried art exhibition held in honor of World AIDS Day at Miami International University of Art & Design, 1501 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. The free exhibition opening reception will take place on Tuesday, November 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continue daily through Friday, Dec. 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Aids Trio 2011 is the third installment in a series beginning in 2009 with Aids Trio, a work that received Honorable Mention at the ArtCenter/South Florida & Miami Beach Community Health Center’s “Through the Eyes of Love” 2009 Exhibition, and followed with Aids Trio 2010, which won Second Place at the South Florida & Miami Beach Community Health Center’s “Through the Eyes of Love” 2010 Exhibition at the Miami International Institute of Art & Design.

"The images I chose for Aids Trio 2011 represent the risks of toying with the virus, the evil face that is the disease, and the urgency for a cure/mortality of those infected," says Brooks.

A selection from Aids Trio 2009 was recently featured at the Miami Magazine sponsored Beck's Emerging Artist Exhibition at the Wynwood Exhibition Center at Cafeina Lounge in Miami.

Bitner Goodman, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale reports the MBCHC’s exhibition will include a diverse display of art, as well as red ribbon inspired fashions, all symbolizing the depth of local artists’ thoughts and feelings as it relates to HIV/AIDS. Other local artists selected to showcase works are Barry Gross, Alejandro Cuadra, Ali Miranda, Janet Muller, Noah Jones, Marco Gonzalez and more. Select artists will receive cash prizes for their work.

“HIV/AIDS continues to be a major health challenge and we’re proud to present this showcase of artistic talents to raise more awareness,” said Kathryn Abbate, CEO of Miami Beach Community Health Center. “This collection of work speaks volumes to the way this disease has affected the lives of so many of our friends and families.”

Sponsors of MBCHC’s Through the Eyes of Love Art Exhibition include the Miami International University of Art & Design, OMG Magazine, South Florida Gay News and NAMES Project Foundation.
