American Association for Long-Term Care Makes Available Free Reprints of Consumer Guide

The nation's long term care insurance trade association announced availability of free reprints of their just published guide; Fresh Perspectives on Long-Term Care Planning.

Los Angeles, CA, November 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, the national industry trade association announced today availability of the organization's latest consumer educational guide, Fresh Perspectives on Long-Term Care Planning.

According to Jesse Slome, executive director of the trade group, the guide was first published in the December 2011 issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, which became available in early November.

"This consumer educational piece deals with issues most often raised by individuals," Slome explains. "The new economic realities facing millions of families called for a more in-depth look at strategies to protect against long term care risk which many call the greatest financial risk facing Americans after retirement."

The guide explains how consumers can "right-size" policy coverage as a way to lower annual premium. "Reducing cost is most important to consumers at this time," Slome notes. "There just is little information available to educate consumers about their various planning choices as well as what discounts might be advantageous."

The Association has run prior inserts in the magazine which is read by over one million individuals.

The current consumer educational effort was made possible thanks to the support of John Hancock and Prudential, Slome notes.
