Staci Shands Wins Ms. Liberty America International 2007

Staci Shands was crowned Ms. Liberty America International 2007. She is the first national queen to wear the crown of this new pageant designed to celebrate women 40 to 79.

Whintey, TX, April 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Virtue International Pageants is proud to announce that on January 15, Staci Shands of Brooklyn, New York was crowned Ms. Liberty America International 2007. She is the former Ms. New York 2006.

Ms. Shands is the first national queen to win the crown and title of this new pageant designed especially to celebrate dynamic and determined women worldwide. The Ms. Liberty America International Pageant system is the first competition ever to honor women between the ages of 40 to 79.

Ms. Shands is a public relations executive. Her career goals are to author and publish books for children as well as young adults. She is also an entrepreneur of her own company called Icats Publicity, LLC that focuses on publicizing authors, artists, corporations and non profit organizations.

Spending time volunteering to improve society’s struggles is a pursuit Ms. Shands has sought to improve for many years. She is on the Junior Board committee of Bowery Residents’ Committee, Inc., a not-for-profit foundation that helps New York’s homeless reclaim their lives. As a type 1 diabetic, this vivacious and proud American woman constantly promotes diabetes awareness and volunteers at DIVAbetic, an organization for the education and empowerment of women living with, at risk of and affected by diabetes.

Ms. Shands is a published author of works for young adults and takes pleasure in collecting rare and new first-edition hardcover books, reading, practicing tai chi, going apple picking and creating delicious organic vegan meals. She is a classically trained dancer and was the recipient of the Dorothy P. Stanley Modern Dance Scholarship. In addition, this pageant queen served two years in the United States Peace Corps as an agricultural volunteer in the Congo.

She attends Emmanuel Baptist Church and is a member of the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ms. Liberty America International 2007 received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

This benevolent beauty is a champion with a winning smile and a heart of gold. She will use her national title to challenge activism and promote life with liberty and freedom for all. She will also travel to endorse her title for the next year before crowning her successor.
