Asian Business Association of Orange County Recognizes Local Businesses for their Economic Contributions to the Community at the Breakthrough Awards Gala Night at Disneyland Hotel on November 19. Disneyland Resort receives Corporate Eagle Award for creating thousands of jobs, economic impact.

Anaheim, CA, November 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Asian Business Association of Orange County (ABAOC) honored 35 local businesses for their contributions to the economy at its 16th Annual Recognition Awards Gala, held Nov. 19 in Anaheim.

The most prestigious award presented was the Corporate Eagle Award, which this year went to the Disneyland Resort for its exemplary contributions to ABAOC and to the Orange County business community.

“This award recognizes the Disneyland Resort for its support of such ABAOC programs as the global procurement conference, as well as the Resort’s impact in Orange County through its latest expansion, which is helping to create thousands of jobs and stimulate the economy,” said Vilmer Villaverde, 2011 president of ABAOC.

For the first time, ABAOC also awarded four Top Breakthrough Asian Businesses of the Year, recognizing companies for their local and nationwide economic contributions. SaviCorp received Breakthrough Innovator of the Year, WinCorp Solutions received Breakthrough Emerging Company of the Year, Globaltel Media, Inc. received Breakthrough Entrepreneur of the Year and MS International received Breakthrough Outstanding Business of the Year.

This year’s President’s Award went to Ngoc Tinh Nguyen, a senior banker at Union Bank, for exemplary contributions to ABAOC, while the Outstanding Advocate of the Year Award went to Maria Dumatol, a program manager at APR Consulting Inc., for serving on the committees for each of ABAOC’s 2011 signature events. Lily Otieno, Infinity Business Solutions, received the Small Business Consultant of the Year Award for chairing the Business Matchmaking Workshops and PROCON conference, and promoting new opportunities for the small business.

The organization also recognized three deserving college-bound students with Asian Community Development scholarships for their exceptional community service and scholastic achievements.

For more than 20 years, ABAOC has been a leader in community service in the Asian community and Orange County. The awards gala provided an opportunity to recognize the outgoing and incoming board of directors, corporate partners and supporters for their consistent support over the years.
