Sifar Gets Nominated for Indiego Music Awards

Delhi, India, November 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Delhi-based alternative rock band Sifar has been nominated for four categories in the first edition of Indiego Music Awards, where they will be competing against the best independent artists from South Asia including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

"We feel truly humbled by this kind of recognition and although it would be amazing if we win, just the fact that there are people constantly supporting us is more than what we could ever ask for," said Deepak Singh, drummer of the band. "This is an important event for us, this will help us reach out not only to new fans, but also to many Industry folks. It’s a validation from the Industry, and for a relatively new band like us, that’s pretty awesome!" said Vocalist/ Guitarist Amit Yadav.

Previously hailed as the "watershed band in the Hindi Rock genre" by a prominent Indian music website, the grunge/ punk influenced band has been nominated for "Best Rock Group," "Best Rock Song" for their song Main Jaaonga, "Best Rock Vocalist," and "Best Genre Bending Song" for their Electro-Rock song Gunah.

"If we win, this will be the first thing we ever won at anything – especially in music. So, it is going to be a supremely unique experience," adds co-songwriter Anshul Bansal.

Sifar are currently signed to Delhi based independent record label, Beatfactory Music.
