Hyatt Regency Houston Earns ConventionSouth Magazine's New & Renovated Meeting Site - Readers’ Choice Award

One of only three Houston, Texas hotels to be presented with prestigious award

Houston, TX, November 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Hyatt Regency Houston, recently transformed following a $50-million renovation, has earned ConventionSouth Magazine’s 2011 New & Renovated Meeting Site Readers’ Choice Award. This prestigious, annual award recognizes the top new or recently renovated meeting facilities in the South for excellence in service and amenities.

23 venues were selected to receive this honor from hundreds of nominations. Winners were carefully chosen by ConventionSouth’s readers - meeting professionals, event planners and industry experts.

The comprehensive transformation of the city’s second-largest hotel included the renovation of its 947 guestrooms, a redesigned LobbiBar, and 71,300 square feet of refreshed meeting space. The project also included the opening of Texas' first Shula's Steak House.

"In addition to a completely transformed hotel product, we added ten new conference rooms and three boardrooms on the sixth floor to keep up with meeting demand,” says Steve Trent, managing director of Hyatt Regency Houston. “This investment reflects the experiences that today’s business and convention guests expect when they meet.”

ConventionSouth, the national multi-media magazine for planning events in the south, will feature the list of Readers’ Choice award winners in its December issue.
