Roanoke, TX, December 01, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Fountain Quail Water Management LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aqua-Pure Ventures, Inc. (AQE-TSXV), today applauded the initiative of Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Elizabeth Ames Jones to encourage the use of new technologies that recycle wastewater from shale gas drilling.
In light of the persistent drought conditions throughout Texas, the RRC’s efforts to streamline rule-making to advance the use of cutting-edge technologies like those pioneered by Fountain Quail is a welcome development for all affected parties.
“We are pleased that Chairman Jones has recognized the importance of wastewater recycling to both our environment and the long-term sustainability of the shale gas industry,” said Brent Halldorson, chief operating officer of Fountain Quail, the premier recycler of industrial wastewater in North America. “The Chairman’s initiative to streamline regulations, rather than to impose new mandates on the industry, is exactly the correct approach, since the marketplace has already begun embracing recycling as a best practice.”
In her November 22 statement, Chairman Jones outlined some of the benefits of shale gas drilling to the Texas economy. While pointing out that “water is a precious resource, in times of plenty and in times of drought,” Jones declared “If we need to streamline our old rules and make amendments where necessary to encourage companies to expand their recycling activities, then that is what we will do.”
Fountain Quail has developed and refined its patented, industry-leading technology for recycling flowback and produced water over the past seven years in North Texas’ Barnett Shale. During that time, the Company has recycled more than 800 million gallons of shale gas wastewater that would otherwise have been injected into disposal wells and permanently removed from the hydrological cycle. The company’s technology is also currently being utilized in the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania, and Eagle Ford Shale in south Texas.
