)-- Standing Cloud, a leading provider of cloud application management services, today announced a partnership with New Zealand-based RimuHosting that expands the global availability of its cloud-based application deployment and management platform.
RimuHosting provides cloud-hosting services from data centers in Auckland, New Zealand; Sydney, Australia; London, England and Dallas, Texas. The seamless integration of Standing Cloud’s application layer with RimuHosting’s infrastructure simplifies application deployment, customization, development, and management for RimuHosting’s customers.
The new offering, designated Standing Cloud powered by RimuHosting, leverages RimuHosting’s infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities to provide developers and business users with customized hosting and cloud-based application services that match their needs, with full control over server size, bandwidth usage and backup options for a flat monthly fee.
“For open source and commercial application developers, Standing Cloud is a great way to offer our users a one-stop installation and hosting option,” said RimuHosting founder Peter Bryant. “With Standing Cloud, any user, with or without technical abilities, can find and use applications on our infrastructure, without system administration burdens, and that’s a terrific option to make available to our customers.”
The Standing Cloud Application Storefront gives cloud service providers like RimuHosting the ability to offer their customers instant access to more than 100 open-source and commercial apps – including popular CMS software such as SilverStripe, WordPress, Drupal and others – all pre-configured to run instantly and reliably in the cloud, and optimized for their infrastructure. With Standing Cloud’s Platform-as-a-Service support for multiple programming languages, developers can use PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, and Python stacks, along with Jenkins, Bugzilla, phpMyAdmin and other supporting tools, to facilitate rapid development, testing, and live deployment.
Once an application is deployed, Standing Cloud’s automated application lifecycle management services provide an easy way to manage the application on a continuing basis, including monitoring, scaling, back-ups, upgrades, auto-restore and more.
“We’re excited to extend the availability of the Standing Cloud application layer solution to even more U.S., European and Australasian cloud users through our agreement with a leading international provider like RimuHosting,” said David J. Jilk, CEO of Standing Cloud. “Our solution, running on top of RimuHosting’s reliable infrastructure, simplifies the relationship between cloud users and their applications, fundamentally changing the way users deploy and manage applications in the cloud.”
