)-- Michael L. Pidlypchak, of Cortland, New York, has been included in the Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide Edition for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of environmental engineering.
About Michael L. Pidlypchak
Mr. Pidlypchak has had more than 40 years of experience in engineering, electronics and energy. He is currently serving as Senior Utility Design Administrator, Streets and Highways, at Nevada Energy, where he has been since 2001. Some of his responsibilities include coordinating all street and highway projects regarding electric and gas facilities relocations and new service, providing budgetary and detailed estimates, determining prior rights, prepare and review financial agreements and overseeing that all financial obligations are satisfied prior to project closure. Prior to his present job, Michael was a U.S. Navy Electronics Technician for four years and held various positions in the Sierra Pacific Power Company including equipment operator, repairman, heavy working foreman, construction administrator and a civil engineering technician. He represented the utility before city councils and county commissioners at hearings to obtain special use permits. Among his many accomplishments, Michael was Sierra Power Company’s Technical Expert for the preparation of the Regional Utility Corridor Study for the Truckee Meadows, graduated with Honors from the Reno Citizens Institute, and received a Senatorial Certificate of Congratulations for his Dedication and Commitment to Citizen Participation in Northern Nevada. He received an A.S. Degree in Environmental Management from Truckee Meadows College in 1998 and is a trainer for Nevada Energy’s Valuing Diversity Classes. Michael is active in his community, serving in various capacities for Saint Paul’s Methodist Church including Chairman of the Administrative Council, co-leader of two, four-day Christian Retreat Weekends and three, one-week youth bicycle tours. He is also Council Member of the Health Council for the United Way of Nevada and the Sierra Chapter. Michael currently resides in Reno, Nevada, where he enjoys golf, kayaking, mountain biking and travel.
