)-- Magic is alive and well in the C-U area. On Friday Feb. 3rd and Saturday Feb. 4th 2012, at 7:30pm, SoDo Theatre, 114 S. Neil St. Champaign, will present Magic and Other Nonsense: An evening of sleight of hand and legerdemain. This one man show stars Champaign native Markus Clegg in his first public appearance in his hometown. Markus is a full time professional magician living in Urbana. After having lived and worked in various cities from Las Vegas to Chicago Markus has relocated back to the area to be near family, and continue his magic career here in central Illinois. Markus mainly works for private clubs and businesses, and is rarely seen in a public venue.
In "Magic and Other Nonsense: An evening of sleight of hand and legerdemain" Markus will be presenting some never before seen magic, as well as his original take on some classic effects. He says, “ I like to blend comedy, magic and a bit of theatre into an experience that will amuse and delight.” When asked why people enjoy magic, he states, “Magic allows us to step away from the cares of the world in a very unique way. It helps us remember that the world is full of wonder, and all we need to do is stop for just a moment, and we will see it.”
Markus Clegg is a full time professional magician residing in Urbana, Il. He has been performing professionally for over 20 years. Past clients include, Kraft, Christie Clinic, Martini Park Chicago, Montana Mikes, as well as numerous civic organization and clubs.
Magic and Other Nonsense: An evening of sleight of hand and legerdemain will be appearing at SoDo Theatre Friday February 3rd and Saturday February 4th at 7:30pm.
