One Church International Presents an Urban Christmas Play
One Church International and The Red Scarf present “This Is It!” a new take on the traditional Christmas story, on Sunday, December 11th at the Birmingham Performing Arts Theatre in Van Nuys, CA.
Los Angeles, CA, December 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- One Church International and The Red Scarf present “This Is It!” a new take on the traditional Christmas story, on Sunday, December 11th at the Birmingham Performing Arts Theatre (17000 Haynes Street, Van Nuys, CA 91406).
The play follows the path of two roommates who are both new transplants to Hollywood with their sights set on fortune and fame. Although both young men love God and believe in His plan for their lives, one roommate struggles to make ends meet while the other is receiving favor and open doors. As one gets closer to seeing his dreams become reality, the other grows fearful that nothing will ever go his way.
“This production reveals the need for an encounter with God on every level of our walk with Him,” said Sharon Youngblood, producer. “It is a realistic look into a scenario that many of us will go through at some point in our lives: What do you do when you think God is not answering your prayers?”
Pastor Touré Roberts anticipates the production will resonate with people who may not regularly participate in holiday festivities.
“This is not your typical play with a baby in a manger! We are using the mediums of theatre, dance and music to meet people where they are,” said Roberts. “There is a universal message of redemption and break through within this play that will resonate with everyone.”
