Samurai Karate Studio Sponsors a Military Family for Thanksgiving

Columbia, SC, December 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, which is located in Richland Northeast, Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced that his school proudly participated in a donation drive that resulted in his school buying a Thanksgiving dinner for a local military family stationed at Fort Jackson.

"This economy has been difficult on many families in the Columbia area," commented Feldt, "and we wanted to help a local military family to insure they had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner."

The project, was headed by SKS student Demetrice Darien, who worked with his mom to collect financial donations and then went to the market to purchase the food.

"Our school is a bit unique," stated Feldt, "students are asked to lead a community service project as part of their rank requirements. This not only develops good leadership skills, but it is also excellent empathy training. If we all treated each other with kindness, there would be less conflict in the world."

Samurai Karate Studio offers training in traditional karate as well as self defense. However, the curriculum also includes Diabetes awareness, healthy eating, peace education through acts of kindness and community service.

Classes are offered to both children and adults.

Sensei Feldt regularly makes himself available for school talks on bullying and stranger danger, and offers free self defense workshops for women throughout the year.

Anyone interested in training with Samurai Karate Studio is welcome to take a free class without any obligation. Please call 803-462-9425 to book your class today.
