Think Design Magazine Art Festival Adds More Featured Artists for Phuket Event

The Think Design Magazine art festival taking place from the 27th to the 30th of December at Royal Phuket Marina is focused on promoting various forms of art, specifically Thai artists and Phuket culture in general. This continues to be the focus of our mission, to make Phuket a cultural destination for the good of all residents, tourists and locals alike. No more, sea sand and hangover as the totality of the Phuket vacation.

Phuket, Thailand, December 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A long awaited event for Phuket, The Think Design Art Festival is preparing for four art-filled days just after Christmas and before the New Year. The Think Design Art Festival is taking place from December 27 - December 30 at the Royal Phuket Marina.

The latest featured artists are Pjae Stanley and the Colin “Illy” Hill Band with special guest Jimmy Fame will be appearing at the Think Design Art Festival on Wednesday the 28th of December. During Pjae’s long and varied career she has performed with groups like The Judds and Highway 101, soul legend Mary Wilson of the Supremes and songwriter James E. Meyers, of "Rock Around the Clock" fame. She also has recorded and released a top ten hit on the Indie Charts and released an album of spiritual music entitled "Stir it Up" on her own label. In Asia, she has traveled extensively and is touring South East Asia, performing blues, rhythm & blues, jazz, and funk with her band. Her music is a hybrid of blues, rhythm & blues, gospel, roots and folk music rich with raw feeling and emotion.

Her current band is a five piece outfit, The Colin Hill Band, a longtime Phuket institution who jam very nicely together. Colin “Illy” Hill is a highly acclaimed guitarist with strong lead or backup vocal ability with a wealth of international experience at the highest levels of the music industry. Colin has been in constant demand in all forms of the industry for the last 35 years throughout the world. Having performed in corporate, cover, tribute and original bands and acts, and with some major international stars, his experience is second to none. The event is not to be missed during the festival.

Also joining Pjae Stanley and Colin “Illy” Hill as a special guest is Jimmy Fame, a musician who during the day is Jim Newport, an Emmy-nominated production designer of both film and television. His work includes such films as Bangkok Dangerous, Brokedown Palace, and the hit series The Shield and LOST. He has just finished work on a Phuket Short movie that will also be shown at the Festival, called “The Endless Bottle.”

Phuket’s newest edition to the technology scene, Voight Loudspeakers will be providing the sound system for the bands and other events at the Festival. Voigt loudspeakers are the utmost luxury in sound and style. They incorporate the Ipad 2 which provides listeners with endless music and video all day. The exquisite gold cabinets are handmade in Phuket, Thailand.

Another interesting happening to look for during the Festival is some performances and costume experiences by Phuket's Absolutely Fancy Dress. They provide affordable handmade costumes and accessories to Phuket and its most dramatic citizens, so be prepared to be surprised by what you see during the Think Design Art Festival; maybe Hollywood characters, traditional Thai characters, fantasy characters and many other costumed people. Absolutely Fancy Dress will be supplying the visitors (adults and children) to the Festival with the quirkiest costumes available. People will be able to try the costumes on, walk through the crowds in cognito and be photographed in their unique ensemble of choice. It’ll be fun for the whole family!
