)-- Nicholas D. Vance, former president of M&D Mechanical Contractors, Inc., was presented the Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award by his peers at the North Alabama chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) during the recent EIC Awards banquet. Vance, the grandson of the founder of M&D Mechanical, was presented the award in recognition of his lifetime contribution to the construction industry.
"This is one of the greatest awards given to an individual within our industry and we could not be prouder that Mr. Vance was chosen for this honor," said M&D President Alan Schollian. "He instilled in our company strong values and the desire to maintain good business ethics in all that we do. He has also been a great leader in our local industry and has been a positive influence in the lives of many people in this area.
Mr. Vance was nominated for the Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award by members of the ABC North Alabama, which is comprised of member companies related to construction. The award is voted on by past leadership of the organization and is presented to only one individual per year. According to ABC North Alabama, the award is given to an individual who has "enhanced the image of construction, demonstrated the value of the free-enterprise system, and has proven to their peers that integrity and business ethics are the true measure of success."
