The Medal Play Golf Tour Visited Desert Dunes on a Blustery Day

Desert Hot Springs, CA, December 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour visited Desert Dunes in Desert Hot Springs Sunday in cold, blustery conditions. “The course was in excellent condition today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “The weather was cold and it tried to rain, but the tour players kept their focus and posted some good scores.”

The Championship Division took an extra hole to decide the Champion. Richard Martin and Erik Williams both fired net 74’s to force a playoff. The playoff started on the #1 tee, a long par 5. Martin pared the hole for his first victory on tour. Billy Hargus, playing in his first event, took 3rd place with a net 75.

The Gold Division saw tour veteran Tony Lange light it up with a net 67 for his second victory on tour. Richard McDaniel took the runner up spot with a net 71, while Virgil Mink took 3rd in his first event this season.

The Silver Division saw Robert Soto finally put it all together for a solid round of net 69 for his first victory on tour. Edson Trejo bested Steve Challenger in a scorecard playoff for 2nd.

The tour returns to action at Terra Lago (North) in Indio on Sunday January 15th.
