)-- Paper Craft is a book of poetry available as a free, printable .pdf from http://www.moriapoetry.com/ebooks.html, or as a printed, traditional book. It was designed to be importantly different in each format:
“In the domain of the digital, Catherine Daly gives us paper; in an age of speed, she gives us craft; in a moment of dematerialization, she gives us concrete; in Southern California, she gives us snow. Process is the key…. What remains … is pure poetry.” Kenneth Goldsmith
“…Paper Craft is a startling mélange of fragmentary discourses, each of which intersects English to form a snapshot of the moment meaning happens. …The gendered languages of science and papercrafting meet in this new, frankly feminist dictionary, setting off fireworks that illuminate as much as they dazzle.” Joshua Corey
Paper Craft encompasses Daly’s objects made from poems and objects read into poetry. She wrote the poems in the title section by folding texts into objects using craft techniques. These are now available in an origami-sized square book as well as on printable pages with instructions and marked with dotted lines indicating folds for making a “meta poem” from Daly’s readings, transcriptions, poems. Also gathered here are her concrete sound poems about granite, found poems like and unlike list poems, and translations into machine languages.
