North Providence, RI, November 02, 2005 --(PR.com)-- David A. Marcotte's Be Wary of Strangers informs children about the dangers of dealing with strangers through an illustrated story. The book is also meant to help parents discuss these dangers with their own children. Here's a parent's worst fear--having a child suddenly disappear with an unknown and, perhaps, dangerous stranger. These are fears all parents must face in a world of uncertainty and chaos while wondering what might be done to prevent these fears from becoming a horrid reality. However, a new book hopes to address these concerns and alleviate the problem with David A. Marcotte's Be Wary of Strangers.

Be Wary of Strangers is a children's book which promotes the dangers of talking to and dealing with strangers. The main character is Henry, a little boy who finds himself in a frightful situation--being separated from his mother at the store. There are no familiar faces around...only strangers. Should Henry go away with one of them so he can be led back to his mother? Though, thankfully, Henry recalls what his mother has taught him when encountering strangers. He knows exactly what to do and what not to do when being separated from her. Therefore, the book is meant to inform children on ways to keep safe when around people they don't know. The book is also meant to help parents discuss the problems of talking to strangers with their children, acting as an instructive tool for both kids and adults. All of this is achieved through wonderful illustrations and storytelling.

With the rash of child kidnappings and abductions going on in the world today, author David A. Marcotte hopes his book will help reduce the rate "by instilling in kids the safe steps to take in the event they get separated from their parents." The book stresses several techniques that can be made handy to help children and to ease parents' concerns. Marcotte should know about these concerns. He is the father of two and also teaches Health Education grades 9-12. As a father and teacher, he was inspired to write the book to safeguard kids with valuable and important lessons while entertaining them at the same time. Adds Marcotte, "It's important for kids to be on their guard and not too trusting of someone they don't know."
