West Yellowstone, MT, January 28, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- On Friday February 3rd, 2012, at 6:30 PM, the North American Ice Fishing Circuit's (NAIFC) and West Yellowstone Tourism will provide a “Free” Ice Fishing Seminar at the Pinecone Playhouse in the Madison Crossing building, West Yellowstone. Friday Night Seminars are “free,” open to everyone. After the speaker’s presentation all in attendance are invited to split into groups with NAIFC Pro-staff to discuss fishing techniques in detail. There is not a faster way for fishermen new or old to learn the successful details of ice fishing than attending these free seminars.
The Friday Night Seminar is the kick-off event for the NAIFC/Hebgen Lake West Yellowstone Qualifying weekend February 3-5, 2012. In addition to the Friday Night Seminar for adults, the weekend includes a Saturday Morning Cabela’s Kids Ice Camp, Team USA sign-up, and culminates on Sunday February 5th with the NAIFC/Hebgen Lake Ice Fishing Tournament.
On Saturday February 4th, at 10:00 AM area Kids and their parents are invited to attend the Cabela’s Ice Camp to be held in the Kirkwood Resort & Mariana Boathouse on the shores of Lake Hebgen. Those attending will see first-hand the excellent opportunity that ice fishing presents for kids to learn what the outdoors has to offer. In addition to the “Free” instruction, every child attending the Cabela’s Ice Camp receives a “Free” ice fishing rod, compliments of HT Enterprises. The NAIFC promotes the Cabela’s Kids Ice Camp through local schools, Church Youth Groups, YMCA, Boy/Girl Scouts, Recreation Districts and Community Education.
On the competitive side: the NAIFC/Hebgen Lake Qualifying Tournament is open to the first 150 two- person teams that enter. NAIFC tournaments are run similar to Bassmasters or FLW tournaments: Meaning that the teams must find their own fish, and drill their own holes. Portable fish shelters are allowed with walking, ATVs and snowmobiles the mode of transportation. The February 5th tournament’s fishing hours are from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and will focus on Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout.
