Glendale, AZ, February 02, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour visited Legend at Arrowhead in Glendale Saturday on a perfect day for golf. “The weather was perfect today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “We get spoiled with great weather in Arizona and today was no exception.”
The Championship Division saw tour veteran Joe White return to the winners circle with a fabulous net 69. Mr. White was certainly in the zone as he lapped the field by an amazing 7 shots for his first win of the young season. Bob Dillon and Kurt Chambers tied for second with Dillon winning the scorecard playoff for second place money.
The Gold Division’s Al Mayhew had another strong day to finish at net 73 for his second championship in a row. Timothy O’Connor, playing in his first event, finished second with a net 77 while Leonardus Leufkens was third a shot back at a net 78.
The Silver Division enjoyed a great battle with Luther Sander and Matt Horner going head to head finishing in a tie for the lead with net 75’s. Due to darkness an on course playoff was not an option so they went to a scorecard playoff. Sander won the scorecard playoff for his first victory of the season. Bob Hickman placed 3rd in the division.
The tour returns to action at Red Mountain Ranch in Mesa on Saturday February 18th.
