American Louvered Roof Systems Patio Cover Engineering Approved: Miami-Dade County Building Code and Michigan Snow Loads

Miami-Dade County Building Code Testing facility and Michigan Snow Load Testing Facility give wet stamp approval of American Louvered Roof Systems adjustable patio cover engineering specifications.

Louisville, KY, February 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Two of the strictest and most demanding building code requirements to meet and/or exceed in the United States are Miami-Dade County, Florida Building Code Requirements and Michigan State Building Code Requirements. The reason for this is because of the hurricane specifications required in Miami-Dade County and the load bearing specifications required in the state of Michigan. As a result of their strict standards, manufactured products that meet and/or exceed their specifications are considered extremely durable and supremely engineered. American Louvered Roof Systems can now add their Louvered Roof Patio Cover to that elite list.

Louvered Roof Patio Covers by American Louvered Roof Systems were subjected to extreme hurricane simulated wind test (up to 146 miles per hour, i.e. a Category Four Hurricane), water resistance test and air pressure test, by a licensed and registered, approved in the State of Florida, testing facility in Miami, Florida, as well as, load bearing testing in excess of 80 pounds per square foot (about 3’ feet of snow) by a licensed and registered, approved in the State of Michigan, testing facility. ALRS’ engineering specifications for their Louvered Roof Patio Cover were given “wet stamp” approval by both facilities upon completion of the tests.

The hurricane wind approvals are referred to as NOA’s (Notice of Acceptance) and are offered by the Miami-Dade Building Department to approve a product which conforms to the building codes in high velocity hurricane zones “HVHZ” in the State of Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and any of the Caribbean islands.

Since Miami-Dade building codes are the most strict and rigorous in the country, all of the United States and most of the Caribbean islands such as the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Turks-n-Caicos, Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Barbados to name a few, accept and/or require Miami-Dade approved engineering specifications.
