Princeton, NJ, February 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Information Security Media Group (ISMG), publisher of BankInfoSecurity, announces the launch of its 2012 Faces of Fraud survey. A follow-up to ISMG's 2011 Faces of Fraud Survey, this study looks not only at the latest fraud trends and how institutions are fighting back, but also at their progress in putting together layered security controls in conformance with the FFIEC Authentication Guidance.

This web-based research study, created by ISMG with the counsel of top fraud experts, will cover the following areas:

FFIEC Compliance Snapshot - What have institutions done already to prepare for their 2012 exams, what new security controls have they deployed (or planned), and what tasks remain to be completed?

Quantity Vs. Cost - Comparing stats, which are the most numerous and costly types of fraud experienced by financial institutions - and across which channels?

Emerging Threats - Mobile technology and social media open the doors to fraud risks for institutions and their customers. How are institutions securing the mobile channel and raising awareness of social media risks?

The 2012 study will also examine fraud trends such as payment cards, checks and phishing; the mobile challenge, looking at how institutions are protecting their customers who use mobile banking; and the rise of EMV, understanding what percentage of U.S. institutions are being this growing trend.

Please visit http://www.bankinfosecurity.com/surveys.php?surveyID=11 to view survey details. Survey results will be presented in a variety of ways across BankInfoSecurity.com, including an executive summary, annotated report, podcast analysis and a webinar presentation on the results, including a roundtable discussion among thought-leaders on the 2012 fraud agenda.

Results of the 2012 Faces of Fraud Survey also will be shared at major industry events, including RSA Conference 2012.
