Northwest Ohio Film Foundation to Hold Quarter Auction

Film Festival bring the "fun" back in "fundraising"

Lima, OH, February 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “Bring your quarters and bring your friends,” says Jessica Archibald, Special Events Coordinator for the Northwest Ohio Film Foundation. On Saturday, February 18th at 1 PM, the not-for-profit organization is holding a Quarter Auction at the Delphos Eagles in support of the Northwest Ohio Independent Film Festival.

The event will feature items from well-known vendors, including Longaberger, ThirtyOne, Pampered Chef and more, as well as an assortment of uniquely themed raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing.

What exactly is a Quarter Auction, one might ask?

Each item up for bid is displayed for all to see. The auctioneer gives a brief description of the item, noting how many quarters will be required for bidding. Guests then give their bids, raise their paddles, and when all quarters are collected, the auctioneer draws one, numbered chip from a container. The number on the bidding paddle that matches the chip drawn will determine the winner of each item.

Still confused? No worries - come and see for yourself. “The Quarter Auction is sure to be a fun, family-friendly experience,” says Jessica Archibald. “We are excited about holding this event at the Delphos Eagles because it’s an opportunity to gain support for the organization in surrounding areas. The film festival is moving to Lima, but all of Northwest Ohio is our home.”
