MarkSight Creates New eBay Research Tool

Free eBay research tool launched.

Donetsk, Ukraine, February 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The company MarkSight.com has, in the past few days, developed and launched a new kind of eBay research tool. First of all it is free to use, which is quite important especially if an eBay seller wants to decide whether or not the service is useful. Next, it shows some of the most important statistics that a potential seller may need.

One might examine a sample case in order to explain the usefulness of the service. Mary decides she wants to sell her mobile phone but she is not sure at what price and what the title of her auction listing should be. So, she goes to MarkSight to figure these things out. First she searches for "iPhone 4s" and discovers there are generally two categories her item belongs to: Consumer Electronics (61% sell-through) and Cell Phones & PDAs (35% sell-through). Sell through is the percentage of auctioned items that are actually sold, therefore it is important to decide which category to choose. It turns out Consumer Electronics is not the proper category for Mary even though the sell-through is high. She goes on to research the Cell Phones & PDAs category. Now, she knows her phone is worth at least $300, so she researches sales for "iPhone 4s" with a minimum price of $300. All of a sudden it turns out the average price for such a sold item is $536 and the sell-through is a whopping 81%. Mary also sees which keywords are relevant, broken up by price ranges. So she names her auction "Latest Apple iPhone 4s model smartphone." This will surely get her auction noticed by prospective buyers. But Mary does not stop here. She goes on to see a break-down of her researched keywords by weekday. And notices that Monday as the auction's last day, brings a good selling volume and the highest sell-through and final price. This means, if she plans her auction to end on Monday, she is statistically inclined to get a higher price for her phone. Mary happily creates her auction, knowing she has gone a long way to ensure success.

The main reason MarkSight has created this service is, there is just nothing similar out there yet. Either Mary would have to do all that tedious research on her own, which will take many hours. Or she might sign up for a paid service, but this can be expensive. Hence a free tool is needed very much.

MarkSight does promise to not stop with just these tools. There are many more possibilities for more tools, and they may even be suggested MarkSight's website.
