)-- Worcester Restaurant Group today announced that Evelio Herreros of Shirley, who has served as Chef at VIA Italian Table since for more than four years, has been promoted to the position of Executive Chef.
Herreros, who has been a Sous Chef at high-profile restaurants in New York City and Boston, will be in charge of all back-of-the-house operations at VIA.
“Evelio is a hands-on culinary professional who commands his kitchen and staff well,” according to Robb Ahlquist, President of the Worcester Restaurant Group, which operates VIA, The Sole Proprietor and One Eleven Chop House. “His level of creativity, extensive knowledge of the food industry and food trends, and passion for Italian cuisine adds to the commitment of Worcester Restaurant Group’s high dining standards.”
Before joining Worcester Restaurant Group, Herreros served as an Executive Sous Chef at Gaslight, Brasserie du Coin, Sous Chef at Armani Café and Consulting Chef at Maverick Restaurant Consulting, LLC, all in Boston. He was also a Sous Chef at Back Bay Restaurant Group (Papa Razzi) in Wellesley and Chestnut Hill, and at Restaurant Associates’ Brasserie in New York City. He began his culinary career at Mary Mount School in New York City.
