)-- Riggs Technology announces the release of the NetExtender, a revolutionary product that extends Ethernet beyond the limitation of Ethernet of 328 feet (100 meters).
With Patent Pending technology, the NetExtender extends Ethernet data by regenerating data packets. This technology allows for continuous data packets to be sent thru with little or no deterioration of data. The NetExtender can be plugged into any 10/100 MBS switch.
Using Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) to power each unit eliminates the need to provide local power for each unit. As an additional feature, the NetExtender has the ability to power other devices that are POE enabled. Using a power splitter devices that are not POE enable can also be powered by the NetExtender.
Engineered to be in harsh environments, the NetExtender allows for Integrators and Value-Added-Resellers (VARs) to easily install this product into current Ethernet networks. The NetExtender is designed to be placed into network environments where Cat5e cable cannot normally reach, due to limitation in current Ethernet technology.
“With the development of this technology, our customers will be able to take Ethernet to areas once thought unreachable by Cat5 cable. By using POE customers can save money by not having to pull separate cable for power. We are also able to power up devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points, while providing Ethernet data, another cost saving feature,” says James H Riggs President/CEO of Riggs Technology.
