Yodel Signs Mobile Asset Management Contract with Ryzex

Hatfield, United Kingdom, February 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Leading parcel delivery company Yodel to leverage the Ryzex mobility model for the management of its 15,000 handheld terminals, enabling savings of £500k per annum.

Yodel, the UK’s leading parcel delivery company, has agreed a mobile asset management contract with Ryzex, a leading expert in deploying and managing enterprise-wide mobility solutions. Within the terms of the new agreement, Ryzex will supply over 15,000 hand held terminals and provide asset and mobile device management to Yodel, enabling the company to manage the equipment from a centralised platform. Yodel will save a minimum of £500,000 per year through improved mobile management that will increase efficiency to its service centres.

The terminals are Yodel’s drivers’ main communication device, allowing them to receive instructions and feedback accurate scans on more than 200 million parcels per annum.

Operations of such scale require effective management of mobile assets, and it is for this reason that Yodel decided to extend its contract with industry leader Ryzex, following a four year working relationship.

Yodel will use Ryzex’s asset management services to ensure the physical security and control of its mobile terminals, manage any necessary repair or replacement and help maintain the latest software levels. The company will also make use of Ryzex’s mobile device management services, allowing Yodel to remotely manage the terminals, access second-line helpdesk support and a portal for asset tracking.

Greg Smith, Chief Information Officer at Yodel, said: “We have worked with Ryzex for many years and have always been pleased with their advice on our mobility strategy. Extending our agreement will allow Ryzex to broaden the scope of its support to us and will allow us to enhance the doorstep experience, which is fundamental to Yodel’s service.”

Tony Doyle, Managing Director at Ryzex, comments: “The new agreement confirms our status as a strategic partner for Yodel and consolidates our position as an innovative provider of centralised asset management services for organisations. Our expert advice helps Yodel to maximise uptime and will deliver the insights required to fulfil the potential of their mobile strategy.”
