Queens Council on the Arts Promotes Free Google Seminar and Other Upcoming Events in NYC

Queens Council on the Arts, a provider of free art and food events in NYC, is offering a Google Seminar on March 7 in Astoria.

Woodhaven, NY, February 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Queens Council on the Arts, a community-oriented arts organization known for sponsoring free educational, artistic, and food events in NYC, is inviting New York artists and professionals to attend its upcoming Google Seminar on March 7, 2012 at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Astoria, N.Y. Offering online registration at http://www.QueensCouncilArts.org, QCA is presenting the Google Seminar as part of its 2011-2012 Professional Development Workshop Series, an assortment of free events in NYC created to help local artists and art organizations facilitate growth and sharpen their marketing and fundraising techniques.

"Hosted by field experts, the Professional Development events in Queens are designed to help creative individuals and groups structure, fund, and promote their projects to maximize both exposure and success. The upcoming Google Seminar is a valuable addition to our lineup of free events in NYC, as it provides a thorough overview of online promotion through both Google Search and Google AdWords," said Hoong Yee Lee Krakauer, QCA's Executive Director.

One highlight of QCA's upcoming events in NYC, the Google Seminar will be hosted by Patrick Berlinquette, a Google AdWords Specialist at Brooklyn-based internet marketing agency Ajax Union. Berlinquette's two-part presentation will begin with "Google 101," a rundown of Google Apps, Google Analytics, Google Places, and Google AdWords, in addition to an overview of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), the process of improving search engine rankings through targeted online marketing.

Wrapping up the seminar, Berlinquette will present "AdWords 101," which explores Google AdWords in greater depth. Here, attendees representing visual art, performance, and dance in Queens will learn about the different types of advertising, the fundamentals of the pay-per-click ad model, and the best strategies to employ to reduce AdWords expenses. The Google Seminar will also touch on some more advanced topics, such as the formula Google uses to calculate Quality Scores and the small changes professionals can make to their keywords and ads to optimize performance.

The latest of QCA's free events in NYC, Ajax Union's Google Seminar will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Berlinquette will be presenting at the Kaufman Astoria Studios, located at 34-12 36th Street in Astoria, N.Y. between 34th and 35th Avenues. Attendees taking public transportation can access the venue by the N train to Broadway or the R/V trains to Steinway Street.

Following the Google Seminar, The Queens Council on the Arts will host a grant writing workshop on April 4, 2012. An asset for artists and organizations looking to pursue grants for music, art, and performances, the workshop will help attendees learn to create a compelling narrative to effectively pitch their products.
